Peer tutors from across the continent can connect with each other to improve the peer tutoring programs in their schools.

1. Can I reproduce the appendices in the S.P.A.R.K. manual?
Yes, all pages can be copied as needed for peer tutoring needs in the school that purchases the manual.

2. How can youth help to facilitate training?
After the first training, students can be invited to help facilitate the next years' training. This way, these students are already familiar with the process and activities.

When planning begins for the next training, facilitators can meet with these students and ask which activities/discussions they would like to lead. Because the manual pages can be reproduced, it is possible to copy the presentation pages as well as the script pages so that students can practice on their own.

3. How long does it take to facilitate the training?
Although the time can vary depending upon the participants, discussion and facilitators, the training typically takes 3 to 4 hours if presented in the format provided with breaks or lunch. Some schools choose to divide the programming, providing training in one-hour sections over a period of 4 weeks.

4. How was the S.P.A.R.K. curriculum field-tested?
The S.P.A.R.K. Peer Tutoring Handbook® is the culmination of 4 years of high school peer tutor advising and training. The training curriculum and materials were piloted at New Richmond High School in Wisconsin.

5. What audience can use the S.P.A.R.K. Handbook?
The S.P.A.R.K. Handbook is written for middle school and high school peer tutoring advisors. The activities and script are designed for that grade level. Those tutors, however, can tutor any grade level student that fits with their academic ability.
